Please note you will be recalled annually for these appointments and if you have more than one condition these will be managed together in one review appointment.

MINOR SURGERY
This is a weekly clinic run by Dr. Monaghan and Dr. Shaw for muscle, tendon & joint injections; incisions of abscesses; aspirations; excisions of subcutaneous cysts & suspicious skin lesions; ingrowing nail removal.

RING PESSARIES
This clinic is for the fitting, changing & removal of ring pessaries.

COILS & CONTRACEPTIVE IMPLANTS
For checking & removal of intra-uterine devices and for insertion & removal of contraceptive implants.

MINOR INJURIES / LACERATIONS
This is a minor injury service for lacerations which are capable of closure by using a simple technique such as stripping, gluing, or suturing.

ANTI-COAGULATION CLINIC
The aim of this Service is to secure the provision of an anti-coagulation monitoring service in which:

  • Therapy should normally be initiated in secondary care, for recognised indications for specified lengths of time
  • Maintenance of patients should be properly controlled
  • The service to the patient is convenient
  • The need for continuation of therapy is reviewed regularly
  • The therapy is discontinued when appropriate.

CARERS
This is to support the overall needs of carers who act as carers.

MONITORING OF DISEASE MODIFYING DRUGS
This is a specialised service for the monitoring of second line disease modifying drugs used mainly in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis but also for other conditions.

WART CLINIC
This clinic is run once a month.

VACCINATIONS

The surgery offers various vaccinations including:

Shingles – these are offered year round to certain age groups between the ages of 70 – 79, if you would like to check if you are eligible for this vaccination please click on this link

Meningococcal B – this is for babies born from 1st May 2018

Pertussis – this is offered to pregnant or post natal women, please contact your midwife via the AMU 01563 825 300.

Pneumococcal – this is offered to those 65 & over and other at risk groups

Diphtheria / Tetanus / Polio teenage booster – for adolescents & young adults up to the age of 25.
